It is our pleasure to apprise you that “17th May” is celebrated every year as WTISD (World Telecommunication and Information Society Day) commemorating the founding of the ITU in 1865 and the signing of the first International Telegraph Convention. ITU is the United Nations Agency for Digital Technologies, and WTISD celebration highlights the growing role of digital technologies in our lives. Theme for WTISD-2026 is “Digital lifelines: Strengthening resilience in a connected world”.
SECEN (Society of Electronics and Communications Engineers, Nepal) takes the pleasure in resuming its decade’s old legacy in celebrating WTISD as per the global call from ITU/WTISD in a manner that is interactive, loud and clear among the engineers working in the fields of Electronics, Telecommunications and ICT.
SECEN is conducting WTISD-2026 as a Workshop from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on 23 May 2026, Saturday.
